Welcome to Community Action Ledbury
Community Action Ledbury is a registered charity working to improve the lives of the elderly, disabled and other vulnerable people living in and around the town of Ledbury in Herefordshire. We provide accessible transport services to a wide range of users who have difficulty getting around.
Our objectives are to: Enable access to health care We help people with mobility problems get to doctors surgeries, hospital appointments and access other healthcare services. In 2022 we took 286 people to over 1,800 medical appointments. Support independent living We help the elderly and disabled to continue living independently in their own homes. We help by taking them on the essential journeys associated with day-to-day living, such as getting to the bank, the supermarket and hairdressers. Combat loneliness Many of the people we help live alone. We help combat loneliness by taking them to see friends and families, transporting them to social events and running minibus day trips. In 2022 we ran 78 trips benefiting 110 people. Prevent rural isolation We help people who live in the small villages surrounding Ledbury who do not have access to a car and are not served by public transport. Promote volunteering and wellbeing in later life We offer volunteering opportunities that suite retired people, helping to keep them active and making a real difference to the community. |
